Happy Friday

Well, it's been another week. Another cold, gray week in SF. While I got a taste of some sunshine yesterday afternoon as the sun peaked through the clouds, I am dying for some good old fashion heat. I am not kidding how cold it is here- people are even writing articles about how cold and foggy it is.

While I wait longingly for an Indian summer, I am drooling over this house tour on Apartment Therapy.








This house fits right in with the white and natural wood summer inspiration that keeps drawing me in. Hummm, do I spy a summer style trend?

Anyway, have a fantastic weekend lovelies. I am going to hang with my nieces, celebrate a friends liberation from a horrible job, and possibly head over to the SF Renegade Craft Fair. Best to you.

Ironic

After my post yesterday, I saw this print:

A bit ironic, no? Or am I like Alanis Morrissette and using ironic incorrectly? It's like rain, on your wedding day...

I never claimed to actually have a handle on the English language. I was a biology major after all.

Fuzzy brain, lazy ass- Make it go away

I am having a massive case of fuzzy brain, lazy ass, 'senior' moments- whatever you want to call it. I feel like I am becoming more and more forgetful and lazy- and less productive and active.

It's the worst feeling. Sometimes I feel like a slug. (And no, I am not pregnant.) While I have had lazy, messy and forgetful moments in my life- don't get me wrong- they have been just that- MOMENTS. They haven't been words that I'd describe myself on a regular basis.

But this morning I did something for the first time- I missed a meeting- I didn't put it on my calendar and got into work 30 minutes late. I ran into the meeting and just felt useless.

You could say, one meeting- no big deal. But it is a big deal. I've never let my laziness and forgetfulness impact my work performance. At least, not like that.

In a side conversation last week, one of my co-workers was giving a tirade about how lazy Americans are. Ugg. I hate generalizations, but I have to say- I am starting to feel like a big LAZY Ass and I am American- so you could call me a Big Lazy American. Whenever I can I've logged an unbelievable number of hours on my couch lately.

I like my couch. I like my TV shows. I like cuddling with Mr. Spice, Huck and occasionally Ferris. When did I become a home body? I live in a City. A City that has restaurants packed most nights when I am sitting on my crusty old brown couch.

So my questions is: how do I get out of this lazy ass, forgetful routine? What have you done that revitalizes your mind and body? Something that lasts and encourages you to turn off the boob tube, get off the computer and get engaged with your life?

West Elm Catalog Love

On Tuesday I got the latest and greatest West Elm Catalog, and a few of their images caught my eye. So much so, when I went to recycle the catalog today- I hesitated.

Who hesitates about recycling a catalog? Crazy blogging ladies like me, apparently. So here's a shout out to West Elm- their set stylist deserves some massive props- the setting, the decor, the vibe- I love it:

Feeling a bit Plum

A few years ago my favorite color was turquoise and then I moved on to kelly green. And I think I can officially say that my new 'it' color is plum. And it's been popping up a bunch in design. All these spaces look like plum perfection to me.

I love that in each space the purple is used sparingly or where you normally wouldn't expect it.
