A few weeks ago, Mr. Spice, my old roomie Kara, and I all trekked down to Santa Barbara to attend one awesome wedding.
The best way to describe this wedding is to tell you about the Bride and Groom. The Bride, a little Hispanic hot sauce, wishes she was from Cap Cod. The Groom, raised in New England, wishes he lived in little Mexico. Talk about perfection.
So the wedding was an awesome mix of Cap Cod Style and Mexican Hot Sauce. I seriously don't know what my favorite part of the day was: The Mariachi Band, the awesome Cap Cod details, the amazing tacos and tamales made by the Mother of the Bride, or the man making fresh churos.
Anywho, I thought I'd share some photos from the fantastic event.
The wedding took place at the Bride's elementary school in Santa Barbara and was officiated by her bestest friend from High School:
As soon as they kissed the Mariachi Band struck up and didn't stop until we sat down to eat:
Did you see that 'stache?
The 'guest book' was a bunch of fabric squares that are going to be made into a quilt. Since the Bride and Groom are Huck's unofficial Aunt and Uncle, I made sure that Huck was at the wedding in spirit:
Please don't knock my 2nd grade style.
Thankfully, Kara and I got a our moment with the Bride, we were the only ones that knew how to bustle the dress. Did I mention that the three of us were roommates before I lived with Mr. Spice?
These two girls are the VERY best Craigslist finds ever!
I don't know about your elementary school, but mine was not this cute:
And here's how we found our table (last name whited out) with cute little knots on our place settings:
And Mr. Spice, showed up looking hot. The suit was his grandfather and the hat is Mr. Spice's new 'look'. Isn't he cute?
And the food, I am still thinking about those shrimp tacos. YUMMM.
And here are the super cute Bride and Groom getting ready for their first dance:
The Pie and Salt Water Taffy Bar:
The pies were in to-go containers and you can bet that we enjoyed our pies the next day for breakfast. Even more yumminess.
And finally all the awesome dancing that ensued. The Mariachi Band was still going strong:
And then as the sun went down, the party got started:
And quite possibly my favorite photo of Mr. Spice ever, meet Gangsta Spice:
So that was the amazing wedding that we went to in Santa Barbara. It kicked ass. I just wish I got a picture of the churo guy.
Hope you all have a kick ass weekend too. We're headed back to LA LA Land to celebrate Mama Spice's birthday. Whoot whoot.
