Happy Halloween!!

It's so late in the day, but the fun is just about to begin. I am off to celebrate my Niece's 5th birthday and go trick-o-treating!! Can't wait.

I just wanted to share a few random pictures for ya on this spookie day.

1st evidence that not only did Mr. Spice and I go out on Saturday night to a raging party (it went to 4am!! No one needs to know that we left at 10:30pm, right?), but we actually dressed up (well, sort of). My belly and I were the 8 ball and Mr. Spice reluctantly participated as well- if only we had gotten together a whole set, next year:

Later that night, Ferris got in on the Halloween action. This is proof that if he is allowed in the bedroom at night he will ALWAYS come and sleep on my head- for some reason he only likes my pillow!! So frustrating!! And so spooky!!!

And finally, from my morning walk- I think our local library was looking pretty festive in the morning light (and yes, those are all real spider webs!!).

Week 32: Uncomfy

Hi Lovelies, Sorry for all the Baby Berry talk this week. I will say that I have a back log of awesome living and design posts in the wings- so get excited for next week.

As for me this week, I don't have too much to update you on from last week. Except for two new developments:

1. I feel extra large. OR as my Sister so kindly put it at my Baby shower- I finally popped. Like I finally look really pregnant. And man do I feel it.

2. Our little Baby Berry is crazy active in my belly. Yesterday on my left she had the hiccups, and on my right she was doing the tango with her legs- at the same time. Glorious fun. She also likes dancing to classical music. I can tell she's still doing flips in my belly because the night before her hiccups were closer to my pelvis, but while I am up and at work her hiccups were on my left- so maybe she will follow in her Mom's footsteps and be a gymnast??

All this movement has finally led me to the uncomfortable stage. It feels like she's creeping under my ribs as well as pushing down on my pelvis.

I am hoping (that as with most things pregnancy), this is just a phase and I won't be uncomfortable for the next 7+ weeks. But I am pretty sure this feeling might be here to stay. Fingers crossed.

She should be measuring at almost four pounds, and at 32 weeks she's the size of a: large jicama. While I should be gaining about a pound a week for the next 7 weeks- she's gaining half of that a week. Kinda crazy, right?? Oh, and my body has officially 40-50% more blood pumping through it.

No wonder I am getting uncomfortable.

Which just may have been the hottest day of the year!!! OMG am I HAWT All the time!

Once I get pictures, I'll be sure to update you all on the amazing brunch that my Sister and Niece threw. It was so sweet.

Bummer on Bumpers

Obviously, Baby Berry's safety is of #1 importance to Mr. Spice and I.

So when the American Academy of Pediatrics came out last week saying 'no more bumpers.' Well, Mr. Spice laid down the law and told me that my dreams of making a super cute whale bumper are over.

Bummer. Mr. Spice is pretty set on not having a bumper ever- even when little Baby Berry is bigger.

Of course this sparked a discussion with my family- it seems that every few years guidelines are changed/become more stringent, and yes 99% of the time they are for the good. But as my MIL says- she was told to put her babies on their stomachs, and my Mom was told that formula is best (yes, I am a formula baby and I turned out sort of ok).

So I ask you, any thoughts in the no bumper debate?

PS I also chatted with my friend at Pottery Barn Kids- sounds like they will be focusing their energy on sheets and fancy crib skirts- no more bumpers from them either. Kinda crazy.

PPS Apartment Therapy Kids is already dishing out advice on what to do with your baby bumpers. This is pretty cute if you ask me.

Ready, Set, Chrismukkah...

So it's officially less than 2 months until Christmas and even less than Hanukkah. So of course, I am already thinking about Baby Berry's first Chrismukkah!! If you have been following me for years, you know that Mr. Spice and I take Chrismukkah very seriously. Years ago we created traditions that work for us, and we've been stickin to them.

One tradition that is very important to me, Christmas stockings, which means that I better have one on hand for Baby Berry.

Since our current stockings veer away from the traditional and are more whimsical, I knew that any old stocking just wouldn't do. Here's our set up last year:

So I went straight to Etsy. I found a few things that looked interesting, including these:

In my search, I also realized that I could probably fairly easily sew Baby Berry her own stocking, and I even found some great fabric at Fabric Worm for about $10 per yard (does the one on the right look familiar??):

And then I found a stocking that I couldn't do myself, and that even Mr. Spice thinks is insanely cute. Check out this pink penguin:

Blueberry Photography

Now revenge is mine I get to send out pictures of my little one!!! YES!

I understand that December will be busy, but we will be doing a newborn photo session with the fabulous Amanda at Blueberry photography, so I am hoping that I can order a last minute Happy New Years card with Baby Berry on it.

Turn around is going to be key. And I am determined to make this happen, which is also why I want to have something picked out and ready to go.

Thank Goodness it is Friday. So far everything has gone wrong today.

While just trying to transfer some money from my two bank accounts (one shared, one just mine)- I found out that NEITHER account has fully changed my name to my married name.

WTH, I changed my name over two years ago- and both accounts are totally screwed up.

Three coworkers have commented on how big I've gotten this week.

Plus, my favorite cupcakes sold out.
