First, let's talk about goals for this shared space:
A. Minimal Baby Gear; aka useful, convertible furniture for this space now and in the future.
B. Semi-DIY.
C. Fits in with our current colors/stuff.
So here's what we have going on in our bedroom currently:
I still love the white and spring green with punches of blue and pink.
And here's part of the plan:
The proposed crib: Just on the market- the Argington Bam Bam. Affordable, convertible, fits through our doorway, green and cute(-ish). Plus, the bassinet option means delaying a big crib in our room right away.
The proposed bedding: Here's what I am thinking. Please let me know if you think I am crazy (please envision the bumper with pink pipping):
Organic Giggle Sheet. Bed Shirt Ann Kelle. Bumper Organic Dan Stiles and Spoonflower.
I am going to start off trying to sew the crib skirt and bumper first. And I may try to sew my own sheets- or just get some plain organic colored ones from Pottery Barn for $14.
The pre-baby art work from ABSea:
Baby Jaws already told me that she loves the Whale Shark. (Check out their free shipping summer sale!!)
And the Ikea Hemnes Three Drawer Dresser/Changing Table:
And because I love instant gratification, here's a sneak peak into what we did last weekend:
Not sure if this is the final location for the dresser, but I am sure that I am totally in love with the $2.95 (on Sale, but not on the website) Knobs from Anthropologie. A pretty great $19 update to a standard Ikea piece of furniture if I do say so myself.
What do you think??

The knobs look great. I liek all the fabrics your lookign at, the colors are so fun.
I love all the choices but recommend you research the risks of bumpers before spending a bunch of time and effort making one. Some people believe they increase the risk of suffocation. Obviously it's your choice but if you were not aware of that risk, I at least wanted to give you a heads-up.
Thanks for the heads up about the bummer- I am aware about the risk of suffocation, but once they are older- the bummer keeps them from knocking their head against the sides and getting their legs stuck in between the slats.
I love the colors and fabric you've picked, I can't wait to see it all come together. The new knobs on the dresser are so pretty :)
Love your fabric choices!! It's going to look great!
I love your choices!!! :) So fun and cheerful!
Love the aquatic accents! And those knobs really change the whole look of the dresser, and make it so unique!
Love it! Definitely check out this site - http://www.danikacheryle.com/. They have really cool overlays to put on ikea type furniture. It was featured on http://www.elementsofstyleblog.com/2011/08/from-the-genius-files.html
