is a burger???
While everyone else still has at least another two weeks of quality shopping time, Mr. Spice and I will kick off our annual Chrismukkah extravaganza tonight, which is officially the first night of Hanukkah. Man, it's early this year.
But the good news, we already have our evening all lined up. Thanks to MIL Spice, Mr. Spice and I are headed to a neighborhood favorite: Spruce. While normally way out of the Sugar and Spice budget, MIL Spice sensed our stressed out nature and generously contributed funds for a romantic night on the town. Seriously, I think I have the best MIL in the world. Take note- money for a romantic night out equals the best gift ever!
Why Spruce on the first night of Hanukkah? Well, within weeks of moving into the neighborhood, SF Magazine 7x7 (which once was my favorite) wrote an entire article about the top ten best burgers in town.
While I have been touting for years that the best burger in town is at the Americano, yes at the hotel bar where we got married, this article by 7x7 includes the Spruce Burger as the SECOND best burger in town. In fact, Americano isn't even on the list- which is why 7x7 can no longer be listed as my favorite SF mag.
So since August, Mr. Spice and I have been dying to try out this so called great burger at Spruce and see if it holds the mustard.
Why on the first night of Hanukkah?? Well, and this is why I married Mr. Spice, according to him, you eat food fried in oil for Hanukkah. Yep, a holiday dedicated to fried food is totally a holiday worth celebrating in my book.
So there you have it. Our first night of Hanukkah.
I'll let you know how it is on the flip.
Tell me, where's your favorite burger?
