This weekend Mr. Spice and I are hosting our first official Party in our City apartment! In an effort to drink up the 10 or so cases of red wine sitting in our hall closet (yes, we do have at least 120 plus bottles in one closet) and for the fact that Mr. Spice has officially announced that, "it needs to be drunk soon," our party even has a theme.
A Red Party.
Or a Red Wine Drinking Party if you will. I had to give up red wine years ago, so I am more than excited to get rid of the stuff that I can't drink and replace it with the stuff I can!!
While the decorating budget is down to $0 dollars for this party. I thought I'd just share a bit of the inspiration that I tracked down on-line. The hardest part was finding inspiration that wasn't too Christmas-ey or Valentines-ey or Wedding-ey.
So in light of the notoriously Pink and Red holiday coming up, here's some inspirational eye candy:
I know this screams Valentine's day, but it's oh so cute:
And I couldn't leave out this scrumptious Valentine's Day Wedding board. Those shoes are too much fun:
I will confess that I have spent a few bucks ($23.48 to be exact) to decorate our place with little punches of red (since currently we have zero red in our apartment), but overall, other than some red carnation flowers, all decorations will be minimal.
With web and blog overload I feel an invisible pressure to throw the perfect 'Martha Stewart Red Party,' but I am trying hard not to jump on the perfect wife bandwagon. Because really, buying little knick-knacks is certainly not my style, nor does it seem very eco-friendly.
So, here's my question to you- do you deck out your apartment when you throw a party, or do you just clean up, put away, and call it a day when you have folks over??
Oh, and a big thank you to my @twitter friends who helped me hunt down all the fabu red inspiration! Kisses to you.
