I have to say, the last few weeks have been amazing. She's so freakin awesome. I've said it before, but she's already on the move doing a modified crawl, on a good night she's sleeping from 8pm to 6pm (knock on wood/), and she's kicking and babbling away. We were late to the party at introducing solids- so far she's only had sweet potatoes and carrots. Tonight she had water from a glass for the first time- and loved it. We hope to introduce peas this weekend!
She had her 6 month appointment today- she's almost 16 lbs (right at 50%) and she's 25.25-inches (about 35%- which is no surprise since I was a little muchkin). She's gained almost 2lbs and 1.5-inches in the last two months; and almost 10 lbs in the last 6 months!! (I've been tracking all of her measurements on Baby Connect- which I was completed addicted to on maternity leave.)
We are still breast feeding, but to be honest- she is weaning a bit. I am down to pumping once a day at work; she breastfeeds first thing in the morning and in the evening; but right before she goes to bed she gets some solid food and a bottle to keep er full for the night.
I am sad to think about her weaning and stopping breastfeeding. I hope to keep going, but I made it to my six month goal so I am not going to beat myself up over my supply going down. Not to mention, she's totally obsessed with her bottle. And my doctor was very impressed that I have made it this far!! I credit Mr. Spice and my Mama friends for supporting me!
Today she did have three more shots, which sucked. Each round of shots she cries a bit more. The four month shots really threw her for a loop. So we're keeping our fingers crossed that this round doesn't impact her for too long. She seemed pretty happy tonight.
