Open Shelving
Mr. Spice loves the look of open shelving, and we have some super fabulous dishes that should totally be shown off. Yet, I on the other hand think that living in earthquake country and open shelving don't really go hand in hand. But I do love the look:
What do you think- am I being overly paranoid? Or do you think open shelving is a recipe for disaster?

I love the idea, but worry about in practice at our place too.
A) Earthquakes
B) The things I don't use as much would get more dusty, and I hate dusting.
C) We have some mismatch coffee mugs and wine glasses that I would not want to put out. So I'd need some actual cabinets for those.
But, I really love the look, especially with colorful plates and bowls.
I agree - it depends how much you like dusting. And how good you are at arranging - Lots of cute graphic cans that are all the same = cute. Hodgepodge of cereal boxes or plates and bowls that don't look good together = UGH.
