Week 28 was more of an emotional roller coaster than anything. But I can happily report that 90% of what went wrong last week- is now going right.
We have a new crib on the way; we're chatting with a new Realtor; I FINALLY figured out my maternity leave (5+ months with full pay); and on Sunday we have our all day labor and delivery class!!! Oh, and we may have decided on a stroller- of course it's not even on the market yet.
Those are all super huge things that I am really excited about!! I'll have to give you guys a proper update on each item in the next few weeks.
As you continue to read- please remember that I started with a long list of positives because it just goes down hill from here...
As for me, I feel HUGE. I went to Target a couple days ago and bought some super comfy nursing bras in size DOUBLE HUGE. (I told this to Mr. Spice, and he was like, really they call it size Double Huge!?? Thanks Husband for calling me Huge, but no, it's not called Double Huge, but it might as well be.) I'd be sad, but these bras are super comfy and comfort is key. Let's just hope that my boobs don't grow to Triple Huge in the mean time- not sure that they make that size.
I also realize that there are parts of my body I can no longer see. (Of course Mr. Spice asked why I needed to see said parts. It's not important for me to see them- it's just freaky that I can no longer see parts of my body- ok!!?)
But those are both little things. What's getting hard: my feet hurt at night and they still hurt in the morning. It hurts to roll over at night- I feel like I have to physically pick up my belly and move it with me, and I've also started to have cases of insomnia- being up in the middle of the night for hours is the worst so far.
I should also mention that my legs feel achy every now and then- my Doctor has prescribed a Calcium Supplement. Then this week Baby Center told me that her bones are starting to harden this week- which means that she is literally sucking the calcium right out of me!!!
My own personal psychology test on humanity continues.
On Wednesday I didn't get a seat on the bus. As I stood in front of some 20- to 30-somethings sitting in the seats at the front of the bus, I started to wonder if I looked pregnant in my puffy vest?? I felt fine standing, but as soon as I got home I realized that I now need to insist on getting a seat. Baby Berry was going cray cray in my stomach and my back seized up. YIKES.
And just to add a visual, here's what I was wearing. Tell me the truth, does this puffy vest make me not look fat not pregnant?
And yes, Mr. Spice waited for Ferris, the lion cat, to pose with me on to get this picture.
But the good news. In the rain this morning, on a SUPER packed bus, an older gentleman gave me a seat. It was a miracle.
Sorry for all the complaining, but I am just trying to keep it honest. Here are my two weekly photo updates. Week 28 she was the size of a Chinese cabbage (which surprisingly my Dad knew what that was):
Week 29: I seriously think my belly looks physically bigger in less than a week, and yes, I do look extra tired in this picture. She's the size of a Butternut Squash (just in time for Fall). She's just over 2.5 lbs and over 15-inches long:
That's it for now!! I am finally going for my first (much deserved) prenatal massage tomorrow!!! Can. Not. Wait.
I also know that from here on out-- it's all down hill....

You look absolutely beautiful! Seriously what is up with people? I would politely ask if they minded freeing up a space for the pregnant woman. Ugh! Did I read that right? 5 month with pay?!?! Ah-Maz-Ing!
you look beautiful!!! :) And congrats on the good news about the paid leave! :)
Aww... You are beautiful! Seriously, can't help but smile catching up on your posts + the development of Baby Berry. Enjoy tomorrow's massage... you deserve it! ♥
Umm, you do NOT look huge. Just adorably pregnant! And don't worry TOO much about people not giving up their seats...I've read that most people are reluctant to do so unless the woman literally looks like they're about to pop any second, because unfortunately there *are* some women who gain a lot of weight in their bellies and look pregnant when they're not. Next time, just puff out your stomach as much as you can, stand in front of them, and let out a big sigh!
P.S. — Great news on the maternity leave! That's awesome!
5+ Months for maternity leave is great! Have a wonderful massage!
You look perfectly pregnant, and oh so pretty! I'm so happy to hear about your maternity leave. That's so fabulous!
You look great! I'm extra jealous of your 5+months PAID maternity leave! Amazing :)
