Love this couch: Personally, I think I am too fickle to use color on a piece of furniture- unless it is amazingly fantastic- which the above couch kinda is. It's been a year and I am already excited to switch up the colors in our living room.
So throwing the question out to you: Would you rather decorate your space with one statement piece in a POP color or would you rather change it up with colorful accessories? Discuss.
While I am out basking in the unbelievably hot weather, why don't you enjoy this divine living room/patio that was on the cover of an Australian Magazine called Belle, but introduced to me by Desire to Inspire. Wish I was there:
And speaking of inspiration from Desire to Inspire, check out Huck and Ferris on Pets on Furniture.
What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?
I saw this image from Dwell on a (new to me) blog Holley and Gill, and I fell in love. The windows, the white glossy floors, the pops of colors, the mid-century modernness. Ridiculously perfect.
Lovelies, This is the craziest/shortest week ever. We returned home late Monday night from a three day wedding whirlwind weekend,* and I leave this afternoon for another three day weekend with all of my best college friends. Ekk. I am exhausted but so excited. Plus I get to meet a new baby- so fun.
That said, today's posting is super short. I gaspd when I saw this photo on Apartment Therapy. The wallpaper wall is beyond fantastic, and I am wondering if this is a project that you could do on the super cheap- wouldn't it be like shopping in the remnants section at a fabric store?? Not to mention how fantastic that couch is....
Anywho, I hope you love it too. Hopefully next week we can sit down and have a nice long chat. So much to catch up on.
*The wedding was beyond fantastic and in my zest to take a ton of photos- I left my camera battery at home. I suck. But I promise to post pics at some point!
Ha. Sorry, I couldn't resist using that title. I told you that this week is going to be all about you the reader.
I want to hear from you.
Who are you? Where do you live? Do you Rent or Own? Are you someone currently decorating a fat loft, house, apartment? Or are you like me and you hope to one day to own a house that is perfectly yours? (PS extra point if you know where that line is from??)
Right now I currently plop pictures on this blog that inspire me, but I want this blog to be more reader interactive. Are you currently looking for inspiration pictures for a project that you are struggling with??
As I always say, I am no designer, but projects and helping people rock my socks. So tell me- who you are and what you'd like to see on this blog. I seriously can't wait to hear from you!!!
Oh and one more HUGE Favor- click over here and vote for me!! It's a $10,000 design challenge with CB2 to re-decorate our pad. Seriously, look how cute our animals are:
Your vote would mean the world to me. I am just starting to get into this whole voting thing and I am WAY behind.
I couldn't end the week with a discussion on Monsters. So I am providing you one yummy living room that I would love to lounge in by Peter Margonelli. It feels like a room for all seasons to me- some dark and lots of light with a pop of green.
Months ago, I talked about some projects that I was working on. It turns out that it took me awhile to (a) complete them and (b) clean the house up to take pictures of them during the day time.
So without further ado- here are two small changes to the living room.
Here's before:
And here's after:
I finally made it to the mecca that is Ikea and purchased another set of curtains to make the nook area a bit more.... Polished?
I also finally took the plunge and painted our coffee table, but more on that and another project next week.
What do you think?? I'd still love to put an ottoman in front of the two 'nook' chairs, but I haven't found that perfect piece to redo.
I can feel the sea breeze just looking at the picture.
